I have a few additional ideas for my production that I have seen in existing magazines and other various images on the internet that I would like to involve in my own magazine and images in some way. From the first image I would like to take the idea of the masthead, or create something similar, with how the fire effect stands out compared to most mastheads in magazines, giving a connotation that the player used and the magazine itself is 'fire' and would attract the audience. The second image is of a possible image idea for the double page spread, where the young star may have signed for a dream club, connoting a proud moment for the player when seeing his name on the club crest in the changing rooms. The final image is of an idea for the cover page, where the player/model will be looking down, but taken at more of a low angle shot, to connote his power and respect from those of the football community.

Why have you chosen this brief?

I have chosen this brief because I feel my coursework last year went really well, and I want to do a similar brief for the purpose of using techniques/conventions and software’s I am more familiar with. I feel as if this sort of brief is the best one for me, with my creative personality and as I am also working by myself I would be able to manage and organise my work more easily without the worry and pressure of relying on others. The reason I chose the regional magazine compared to the other print brief (local newspaper) was because it appeared more interesting and seemed as if I’d be able to use more of my own ideas and topics that I would be more knowledgeable about, rather than talking about news and local issues. The print brief would benefit me more in the future with the software packages and techniques it involves as I would more likely use these in my future career rather than doing film and camerawork. Another reason why I chose this brief was because I have many ideas and thoughts about what to focus my magazine on and feel I will achieve the best end result because of this. From my production last year I gathered that my positives included photography and use of software packages (Photoshop) with negatives including needing to request a few extensions to deadlines, and I didn't always record every step through my decision making process, therefore, I will use this feedback to help me make a better and more improved production this year, by managing my time more effectively, and logging every step through my thought process during my production.
